A Little History
As the workhorse of the Canik line, the TP9 has seen numerous iterations over the years, arriving first at the TP9SA, which helped elongate the blocky frame of the original and make it more ergonomic. So much of what makes the SFx great was first envisioned in the SA model, including the better grip and the slide-mounted release.
The SA eventually gave way to the SF, which adopted the striker-fire trigger, usually seen in Glock pistols. That would carry over as well to the next iteration, the famed SFx.Â
